Kia Ora Everyone
I attended a Principal meeting this morning attended by Dr Jonathan Jarman from TDHB and Hans Konlechner from the Ministry of Education. The key messages were that it is really important to maintain normality while at the same time adhering to good advice.
This means it is really important for all students who are well to be at school but to keep any children home who have coughs, sneezes or who are unwell.
We are all limiting contact with other students from other schools which ties in with sporting NZ advice cancelling many sports musters, events etc. Which means there will be no inter school triathlon or any other events with other schools until further notice.
Our own school triathlon tomorrow will go ahead.
Less than 1% of children under 10 have contracted the virus. There is absolutely no talk at present of shutting schools across NZ. If things change, I will let you know.
If you are in doubt of any information you hear, just check the New Zealand Ministry of Health website. https://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/diseases-and-conditions/covid-19-novel-coronavirus/covid-19-novel-coronavirus-health-advice-general-public#spreads
